THE SITUATION
The site doesn’t get much traffic UNTIL Burning man. Then, suddenly, there is an explosion of traffic. Burning man happens and a few people return, but the true peak is before the event. How to capitalize on this?
There are many other events Zoe covers that do not get as much play. Why not?
Hoping for donations is not a business model. YouTube will demonetize anything truly amazing. How she should she grow it?
The majority of the traffic comes from mobile. It needs to be optimized for mobile.
ASSESSMENT
Burning Man attracts 80k people but it is not the largest event happening. Some events like
Sturges attracts 555k. Art Basel matches with 80k (and there are multiple events in multiple cities).
Overall tthe site can be cluttered and fun but people will get overwhelmed if there is TOO much shit. It’s better to make
A landing page
A place to showcase top Podcast episodes- but push then to subscribe
A teaser for YouTube- then push for them to subscribe
Writing should be writing, easy to read, without distractions.
TARGET
I would suggest making the site fun yet SUPER easy. Get people subscribed. They don’t and won’t hang out on any site for too long. It’s better that they subscribe on YouTube, Spotify/Apple, Medium, and her newsletter. Keep the pages hella simple with loads of content and easy to use so people can binge - but push people to subscribe to Newsletter & their fav apps

The shows (streamline them. Get on schedule. Make them easier to produce so she can create more material)
Develop a pitch to send to Netflix, Talk Shows, etc…
